Hermanson Company is one of two contractors selected for the full mechanical scope, including the planning, fabricating, and installing Sheet Metal, Fitting, Process Pipe, and Plumbing on the new 5.5-million sf / $4.5-billion Panasonic Electric Vehicle Battery Facility in De Soto, Kansas.

The manufacturing facility will have an annual production capacity of 30 GWh to supply EV manufacturers nationwide. The new manufacturing facility will benefit the community and the surrounding region significantly economically. The facility is expected to create up to 4,000 jobs and invest in local education, talent development, mentorship, volunteerism, and environmental initiatives.

Designed to be environmentally friendly, the facility will use renewable energy sources. It will implement a variety of water conservation and waste reduction measures.

The facility is scheduled to begin mass production in March 2025.
