Many of Hermanson’s clients – both owners and general contractors – continuously seek to understand the trends impacting Mechanical Construction Cost.

For the first time in a year we are seeing a slight drop in mechanical construction costs, with our overall project price 0.6% lower than in Q2 2022.  Pricing reflects slightly lower pricing in both HVAC and Plumbing scopes.

Major changes include a 5% drop in Copper Pipe pricing and a 2% drop in Galvanized Sheet Metal. These were countered by 2% increases in both Carbon Steel Pipe and Cast Iron Pipe, while Plumbing Fixtures showed a 3% increase. HVAC Equipment, PVC, and labor wages remained at Q2 2022 levels.
