Foreman Focus | Trevor Ottwell, Plumbing Foreman

For the month of March, we’re excited to introduce Trevor Ottwell, our Plumbing Foreman, who began his journey with the Plumbers Union in 2018 and has since become a key leader at Hermanson.

Trevor’s journey into the trades began in August 2017 when his good friend encouraged him to join the Plumbers Union. By January 2018, Trevor knew he had found the right path.

“I realized this was the career that would give me the financial freedom to support my family and give back to the community,” Trevor shares.

Trevor’s hard work and commitment quickly became evident during his first couple of years. During his apprenticeship, his strong understanding of the coursework caught the attention of Local 26. This recognition led Trevor to serve as an instructor for the past four years, helping shape the future of the trade. He’s been a proud chapter representative and was honored with the Washington State Association of the UA’s 2022 Future Leader Award."

Trevor joined Hermanson in November 2020, beginning his work at the Climate Pledge Arena.

“Becoming part of Hermanson’s vast knowledge and skillset was a highlight for me,” he reflects. Since joining the company, Trevor has grown into his role as a foreman, contributing his expertise and leadership to several successful projects.

Currently, Trevor is the plumbing foreman on the Army Madigan Medical Hospital project, leading the team alongside two other foremen.  He emphasizes the importance of precision and attention to detail in his role.

He says, “The entirety of this job is important, right down to the last detail.”

When reflecting on his experience with Hermanson, Trevor is quick to highlight the support and mentorship he's received.

“The opportunities for leadership and growth here are limitless,” he says. “Hermanson has provided me with everything that I need to take on greater responsibility and lead my team with confidence. I've had incredible mentors on each of my projects—Climate Pledge, Primera, and now Madigan Hospital.”

"I can't express how grateful I am for all the mentorship, tools, resources, and support I've received at Hermanson," he adds. "I truly feel like I’m part of the family. It means the world to me."

Outside of work, Trevor is a dedicated family man and mentor. He and his wife, Stephanie, enjoy spending time with their children, Trevor Jr., Damon, Gracie, Maddie, and grandson Lucas. The family loves outdoor activities, sharing meals, and traveling.

Trevor also enjoys the outdoors with his dogs, Shift (German Shepherd) and Nella (Rhodesian Ridgeback). And when the Seahawks are playing, you’ll find him cheering them on with his cat, Pickles.

At Hermanson, we’re proud to have Trevor as part of our team. His leadership, commitment, and work ethic set a strong example for everyone around him.
