Foreman Focus | Tony Foy

Meet Tony Foy, a seasoned construction support foreman with more than 30 years of experience. With 20 years in Local 32 and an extensive career in refrigeration and fitting, Tony is now one of Hermanson’s most trusted foremen.

Tony is leading Hermanson's work on the 262,250-square-foot Tulalip Casino Expansion & Renovation, where every day he shares his knowledge and leadership to set up his team for success.

Tony credits Hermanson’s training and support for shaping him into a skilled foreman and equipping him with the technical expertise he needed.

“I want to give a shoutout to Rick and to Hermanson Company,” he says. “They’re good at providing the education and guidance that allow people to grow and succeed.

Tony’s perspective on leadership is clear: a foreman’s success is directly tied to the strength of the team.

“No foreman is anything without a decent crew,” he says. He believes in leading by example, never asking his team to do anything he wouldn’t do himself.

“Respect is a two-way street,” Tony adds, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect.

He also points to Hermanson’s culture as a major factor in his success.

“The ability to collaborate and learn from other foremen across trades has been incredible. We’re all working toward the same goal, and that kind of teamwork makes all the difference.”

One of Tony’s most memorable projects was Capgemini, Jayhawk and RTC. Capgemini was not only the first time Hermanson did full controls for a job but also a demonstration of “good planning and teamwork.” Tony notes that the project came in well under budget—half of the original estimate.

When asked to give advice to young foremen, he said, “Embrace the process. Absorb everything you can. Pick a little bit from everyone and use that to make your own decisions and shape yourself.”

Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and the outdoors. Originally from New York, he has been married to his wife, Donna, for 29 years. They have two children, Nick and Celeste. Now living in Washington, Tony stays in close contact with family in New York, Florida, and Texas, and makes efforts to visit them whenever possible.

Thank you, Tony, for your leadership and your ongoing contributions to Hermanson’s success.
