Due to health concerns related to heavy wildfire smoke, King County opened a shelter site in Seattle’s SODO District on Friday that was built as a COVID recovery center for people experiencing homelessness.

Through the combined efforts of Hermanson’s Engineering and Construction teams and General Contractor, Howard S. Wright, the space has excellent air filtration, no-touch hand-washing stations, and can accommodate up to 77 people with individual spaces separated by cloth partitions.
