Hermanson Service Technician, Keith Black, recently stopped by his high school alma mater, Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC) in Burien, hoping to talk to students about his career path since graduation.

His visit was timely and Keith along with Service Sales Rep, Cori Witney, were asked to participate in PSSC’s annual spring Hiring Fair last week.

PSSC offers career and technical training to high school students in the Highline, Federal Way, Tahoma and Tukwila School Districts. Students attend the Hiring Fair ready to talk to construction, aerospace and medical companies, determine entry level employment options and even go through mock (or real) interviews with potential employers.

Hermanson partnered with Local 66 Sheet Metal representative, Jeff Reinhardt, and talked to students from the Construction Technology, Aerospace Manufacturing/Engineering and Automotive Technology programs who stopped by their booths for information about careers in mechanical construction and design.

“It was great to be back on campus and see the potential of students who are learning the introductory skills to enter the trades. It has been a great career for me, and I know there are living wage jobs available to those who are interested,” said Keith Black.
