Recently, Hermanson’s crew at the North Satellite Modernization Project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport set five large air handling units (AHUs). Detailed planning was required to transport the AHUs across an active tarmac, set a 110-ton crane to lift the 27 sections into the side of a building, and maneuver the sections to their final destination using a winch and rollers before assembling.Special care was taken to ensure the operation met COVID-19 construction guidelines, and workers’ safety was paramount during the load-in of sections weighing upwards of 15,000 pounds. ... To celebrate Hermanson Company’s 40th anniversary, the full-service mechanical contractor created a custom centerpiece for a celebratory event. “Forty years ago, Hermanson was a sheet metal only shop,” explains relationship manager Melissa Tatro. “Knowing the caliber of craftsman in our shop, a stainless steel cupcake stand was an ideal way to show off their talents.”   Tatro worked with Hermanson Specialty Metal foreman John Lopan and fabricator Ryan Rowalt to design a four-tier cupcake stand with a 40” x 40” bottom base with 10” graduations.
