Rick began as a Sheet Metal Apprentice as he watched his father, Jerry, build Hermanson Company from the ground up. Rick worked his way up to Project Manager, then Sales Manager and eventually stepped into the role of President and lead company executive when Jerry retired in 1998. Rick’s holistic understanding and first-hand experience in how the industry works on all levels, in conjunction with his natural enthusiasm and leadership abilities, have been integral in turning Hermanson into a comprehensive mechanical construction, engineering, and service firm. He continues to inspire innovation as he recently oversaw the reorganization of Hermanson into specialty teams that better serve our clients.

As a licensed Professional Engineer, holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington, Knut is uniquely qualified to provide leadership to Hermanson Company as Executive Vice President. Knut is a member of the original ownership group that purchased the company from founder Jerry Hermanson and has been a partner in the company since 2000. He was instrumental in growing Hermanson’s Design-Build capabilities and over the past two years has led the company’s High-Rise, Hospitality & Office (H2O) team with great success. Knut is now responsible for Hermanson’s business development efforts, assisting in the execution of company goals and aligning resources to achieve success. Knut helps build and achieve our company’s vision while also enabling the people within our organization grow.

Troy’s visionary approach to construction and his ability to incorporate Lean processes with innovation make him an effective Vice President of Operations. Having led construction for data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, and clean rooms throughout the United States, Troy has already successfully completed some of the most intricate and complicated mechanical efforts in our industry. He applies his knowledge and expertise to build and refine critical functions in project execution. He also works to continually enhance the prefabrication and assembly processes to take us to new levels of efficiency.

Paul has accumulated a breadth of expertise over the last 20 years that he applies to achieve mechanical construction excellence. He is an expert at preconstruction, construction management, and mechanical / plumbing estimating. Paul takes a pragmatic approach and remains budget-conscious throughout each project, resulting in practical and cost-effective solutions for his clients. Over the last two years, Paul has successfully led our Critical Environments Group (CEG), building a team of healthcare, lab, and data center construction specialists. His success with CEG stems not only from his talent but also from his compassion. Paul is adamant about ensuring that his team does their part to ensure quality design and installation so that hospital staff and patients can focus on what is truly important.

Dean began his career at Hermanson over 30 years ago as a sheet metal worker in both the field and shop. He then worked as the Sheet Metal Shop Manager for seven years before becoming a Partner and the Director of Labor in 2000. Dean is responsible for all aspects of union labor for Hermanson Company. He is our representative of collective bargaining and is in charge of all labor contracts. Not only do our Superintendents report to him, so does our Safety team. Dean is ultimately responsible for the welfare of our people and has worked to improve our company safety program and foreman training.

A Hermanson team member since 1999 and a professional engineer, Ken has held many position including sales, project management, engineering and estimating roles. Ken currently manages operations in our Owner Direct Services (ODS) group, including providing energy services to our owner-clients. He is also responsible for maintaining Hermanson’s Washington State ESCO status, including program knowledge, applying for grants and utility incentives, energy engineering and audits, and energy proposals. Ken has helped to offset millions of pounds of carbon on projects while saving millions of dollars in capital costs through grants and rebates. With his all-encompassing knowledge of mechanical construction and related energy efficiency, Ken is able to effectively advise clients from project preconstruction through commissioning.

As the Director of Project Management, Steve provides leadership, vision and direction for all project management activities. He is responsible for continuously improving and enforcing the quality and effectiveness of project management practices and implementing them across the company. Steve also runs our internal training and internship programs. His leadership with these programs have given Hermanson the ability to find fresh, new talent to bring on board as well as ensure that our current employees are placed in the right positions that focus on their strengths and talents. Steve hires the right people and prepares them to be competent in the “Hermanson way”. He aids in building a culture of competency and customer satisfaction by assuring that Hermanson has a constant supply of talented, top notch project professionals to meet our clients’ needs now and in the future.

As Estimating Manager, Jason has spent the last seven years at Hermanson leading a team of skilled mechanical estimators and supporting each project group by ensuring that accurate mechanical and plumbing system budgets and complete cost estimates are provided. He works closely with engineers, GCs, owners and developers to assure that cost information reflects the true cost of construction and provides detail and transparency so that they can make well-informed decisions that fit their project goals. Jason is also currently leading one of Hermanson largest projects, the expansion of the North Satellite at SeaTac International Airport. He is utilizing his budget-conscious, estimator mindset along with his passion for Lean processes to provide a project that is within budget and on time.

An industry expert, Dave grew up in a family-owned mechanical contracting business and has held several high level operational and executive positions at a large mechanical construction company for over 30 years. As Director of Hermanson’s Service and Maintenance Group, Dave’s ultimate goals are to both build relationships with new clients and to retain relationships with existing ones. He ensures that we employ best-of-class technicians on the service team and that workers on all levels - from executives to sales personnel to foremen - are providing superior customer service at all times. Dave continues to refine and mold our Service Group and build a unified vision for his team.

Over the last 19 years, Chris has worked diligently with developers and building owners in the Seattle Central Business District (CBD) to build Hermanson’s presence as a tenant improvement expert. Chris started his career in the field as a sheet metal apprentice, journeyman and lead foreman, eventually becoming Hermanson’s lead Account Executive for CBD Tenant Improvements. Because of Chris’ hands on experience, he understands how systems function and how system issues can effect an entire building. Chris has strong relationships with his clients because he recognizes and appreciates their needs and is able to ease their worries by quickly diffusing any problems that arise. Chris’ focus is to create a positive experience for building owners and tenants through the entire construction process.
Jason has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry and has spent the last 11 years providing financial leadership to Hermanson Company. He is responsible for monitoring Hermanson’s financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, driving profit and loss accountability throughout all of the business units, and coaching Hermanson on improving financial performance. His leadership helps form company growth objectives and strategy. In his role as Risk Manager, Jason guides the company on all insurance, legal, and bonding matters. He progressively maintains strong relationships with all external financial stakeholders, including peer financial leaders. Jason ensures that the company always communicates a clear vision of its financial goals and objectives, keeping Hermanson on the path to achievement.

Monty initially worked as Hermanson’s Special Projects Department (SPD) Labor Leader before taking over as the Department Manager in 2010. His extensive knowledge and experience working with property managers and tenants in occupied spaces, including multiple projects for Boeing and Microsoft, has facilitated the transition of SPD into a critical component of Hermanson's core competencies over the last decade. Monty has successfully developed our SPD unit into a superior group of experts who specialize in fast-paced tenant improvements and meeting unique owner requirements.
